This article describes functions related to holds.
If a prospective buyer decides to “Hold” a song to claim interest in purchasing the rights, you will be notified in the “Hold” tab that there is a request.
You can check the status and the deadline of the hold. By clicking "View", you can check the details of the hold.
You can examine the details of the request to identify what the project is for, the amount the buyer is willing to pay, the territory of the release, and other initial terms and conditions. These are ultimately all negotiable, but it allows for you to keep track of all of the songs that are in the deal process.
Then you can choose whether to accept or decline the offer by "Accept", "Reject" button.
・What is the SURF process once a song is on hold?
Once a potential buyer shows interest in holding a song, our system will notify you of the hold request. You will have 7 days to either accept or decline the request. Upon approving the hold request, you will hear from our staff to begin the negotiation process of the potential song placement.
・If a hold request or offer is made, can I decline it? What is the process of negotiation?
Yes, the decision is up to the creator to accept or reject a hold request or offer. In regards to negotiation, we are currently working on a tech solution to navigate within the platform, but in the meantime please contact your SURF representative, or email contact@discovered.surf, and we will help to facilitate the negotiation process.
