Submit to briefs for A&R consideration, make purposeful submissions to maximize your chances, and understand your brief submission limitations
Via the SURF Music brief portal, you will be able to submit songs and demos directly for opportunities available on the platform.
＊Make sure that any songs you would like to submit are first published to the Marketplace. ( Click here to learn how to upload your songs to the Marketplace.)
After accessing your SURF account homepage, you will have the ability to view all creative briefs. By clicking "Read More" on a brief, you will find a convenient "Submit Track" option located on the left side of the page.
After clicking the "Submit Track(s)" button, you will be able to view your tracks.
NARROW DOWN YOUR SUBMISSIONS
There are two search features available to help you narrow down your list of songs.
1. AI search
Utilize the filter button to enhance your search experience. By selecting specific criteria such as BPM, Genre, Key, Instrument, and more, you can narrow down the list of songs. Once you have chosen your desired filters, simply click the "Apply" button at the bottom of the page to instantly see the search results.
To choose the songs you want to submit, simply click on the checkbox next to each song and then click the "Submit Selected" button.
2. Audio Reference Search
To reference a song, click on the "Audio Reference" button and select either "Audio URL" or "Upload File."

Paste the URL of the song you want to reference into the search box and click the "Search" button to view the results.
Select the track you want to submit by clicking the "Submit" button.
"Upload File"
When you click the "Upload File" button, your computer folder will automatically open. Choose the file that you want to refer to. Our search system will then detect songs that are similar to the one you uploaded from the file. Simply select the track you wish to submit by clicking the "Submit" button.
BRIEF SUBMISSION QUOTA EXPLAINED
Each tier of subscription comes with a brief submission quota. The chances of a placement is maximized when you submit the most relevant songs to each brief. Therefore it is important that you analyze the parameters of the brief, and select the best songs for submission.
***Please note that song submission quota refreshes based on 30 days after the first submission, and is not calculated within each month. This means that once you have maximized your submissions to briefs, the next time you are able to submit will depend on when the first song(s) was/were originally submitted.***
