How do lyrical translations work if I've placed a song in a territory outside of my own?

While each territory operates differently on lyrical translation deal points and terms, historically Japan has operated on a 50-50% lyrics vs. writing split. However, each opportunity is dealt with on a case by case basis, and we have successfully placed songs negotiating fairer splits on behalf of all parties involved. But please keep this disclaimer in mind to set the expectation for how lyrical splits have historically worked in Japan.
